With humility and sense of responsibility, we write to invite you to the occasion of the 1st ever public forum to mark the Aba Women Riot of 1929 as, Special Guest of Honour.

Civil society organizations in the south-east and south-south celebrate Aba Women Riot of 1929. The event is organized by the Popular Participation Front in conjunction with the Human Rights, Justice and Peace Foundation (HRJPF), Campaign for Democracy (CD), Southeast Zone and the Centre for Popular Participation and Local Initiatives (CENPALIN).

The objectives of the event are: (1) to arouse the consciousness of Nigerian women in the arduous task of nation building. (2) to sensitize participants and the public on the need to hold government accountable and to proactively engage with political leaders for good governance (3) to analyze issues, propose alternatives and mobilize for change to the development of Nigeria.

Highlights of the event include the following:

Those expected to grace the occasion include General Mohammadu Buhari, Rev Fr John Okwoeze Odey, and Alhaji Balarebe Musa.
