PRESS RELEASE
Tonye Princewill Mobilizes And Position Rivers State Action Congress State And Local Government Officials For Another Guber Election In Rivers State.
It was meeting after meeting by the various units and groups of Action Congress in Rivers State throughout the first week of August starting from 1st to 4th August, 2007.
On Wednesday the 1st of August it was the Youths segment of the Party, on Thursday of 2nd August it was the Women group and by Saturday the 4th August the Chairmen of the Local Government Chapters of the party gathered at the party State Secretariat situated at No. 41 Railway Close, Port- Harcourt in a meeting that was tagged ‘the battle to reclaim the stolen mandate’.
At all these meetings the Action Congress Leader and gubernatorial Candidate of the party in Rivers State, Engr Tonye Princewill’s solidarity message was passed across to the various Leaders in attendance by the Deputy Gubernatorial Candidate of the party in the State, Chief Williams Igwe. The message of solidarity of Tonye Princewill read and we quote ‘I am proud of you all for ignoring all the evil tricks by those in government to bribe you and not minding all the forms of intimidation, persecution, threat to your lives, and threat to cripple each one of you economically in the State and continued to support and forge ahead with us. I am short of words on how to thank you people for your steadfastness and faith in the face of obvious danger in identifying with the struggle and onerous task of freeing our State from the grips of a deadly clique that has held us hostage these past eight years. I am humbled and touched with your zeal and at times I do wonder what I have done to merit this type of affection and love from you people and because of this I have rededicated myself for this service and no amount of temptation or intimidation will sway me away from championing this course to the end no matter what it will cause me and my family. With this development, I encourage and urge all of you not to relent on your support for the party particularly now that the battle is gradually coming to an end. With the feelings we are getting from the Election Tribunal through our credible and capable Legal Team led by Chief Kola Awodi (SAN) the battle is partially won but in order for us not to be rattled the way we were surprised in the last fraudulent election in the State, we have decided to start on time to put our acts together by arranging all these meetings geared towards strategizing and mobilizing not only our members but the entire State for the battle of reclaiming the Rivers State stolen mandate. In the coming weeks various relevant strategic committees will be set-up for the incoming guber re-election in Rivers State to make sure that all the lapses that gave PDP and INEC the impetus and lee-way to rig the last elections in the ignominious manner it was done does not in any way repeat its ugly head again in the State’ as we are very convinced of a favourable verdict from the Election Tribunal.
Rev. Amoni Fiberesima the Chairman of the Chairmen Forum of the Party in the State, Mrs. Ibiduo Johnbull the State Women Leader, Mr. Norisia Pepple the Youth Leader all gave vote of thanks on behalf of their various groups reaffirming their belief and confidence on the Leadership of Tonye Princewill to lead the party to the promise land. The three party Leaders pledged not only to rededicate themselves but make sure that the goal of the party in forming the next authentic government in the State to be headed by Engr. Tonye Princewill is achieved. All the various State and Local Government Leaders of the party in attendance expressed their resolve and readiness to redouble their efforts in order to salvage the State from enslavement perpetuated on them by the Odili’s dynasty in the State.
With this development, the good people of Rivers State can now heave a sign of relief that their son and servant that will take them to the promise land will soon be installed as their own truly elected Governor of the State not imposed by people that does not meant well for the State. With the Rivers State people electing their own by themselves the problem of insecurity and deprivation that has being our lot these past eight years will be a thing of the past. The promise of giving only very few of our children scholarship will become a laughable statement as we are set to provide scholarship to all Rivers State indigenes from kindergarten to Higher Intuitions – the funds are there if properly managed and invested in the emancipation and development of our people. With this development the period of hiring political jesters and never-do-wells all over the country to Rivers State in order to be assisted with the fund meant for the development of our area will become a thing of the past as we intend to govern the State with all the required seriousness it deserve and may not have enough time for political loafers as the practice associated with Odili’s system of governance inherited by Sir Celestine Omehia.
Those that accompanied the Deputy gubernatorial Candidate of AC to deliver Engr Tonye Princewill message to all these groups were the State Party Chairman Ogbo Muen Kbagani, the Party Secretary Mr. Bob- Manuel Okisi. Media Consultant to TPCO Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze and few other Party Leaders.
