2015: Fear Grips Southerners in the North, As Hate speeches, Threat Circulates.

“It is a sin islamically, for a Muslim to support a non muslim for
leadership. We will get u people one by one, you are very stupid. We will
get you soon and you PDPNYF…will regret it insha Allah” Imam Sadiq
tweeted @imamsadiq123…In a back and forth with the PDP Northern Youths
Forum, in an apparent warning of a dire consequences if a Northern Hausa
Muslim is not elected President in 2015.

Attahiru Abdulkareem posted on his Facebook page ” Truth is bitter.
People like you support GEJ are the one (sic) that don’t want dis country
to progress. U all should (sic), locked in a room and bomb you all.”

The above and many more are what has become of the 2015 Presidential
election campaign as the country experiences a major polarization along
ethnic and religious lines.

Sources told Pointblanknews.com that hate speeches and anti Christian
messages against a Christian Presidency freely described as “infidel” have
been recorded in tapes and circulated to Muslims in the North.

The hate messages are being listened to by artisans, traders and people
visitng places such as markets, Mosques and religious houses,
Pointblanknews.com correspondents report.

“It looks like history is about to repeat itself in the north, as the
clouds gather over both northerners and southerners in the north east and
north west, who are rooting for President Goodluck Jonathan,” our
correspondents report.

According to our reporters, “It is reminiscent of the violence that
erupted in 2011 after General Muhammadu Buhari rejected the results.”

It would be recalled that in 2011, Armed youths went from house to house
in murderous rage, hacking, looting and burning. Mostly affected were
southerners, including several members of the NYSC on election duty.

The rising apprehension has even forced the APC to issue a statement
calling for violence free polls. Lai Mohammed on Monday said such
apprehension is inimical to the conduct of a successful poll.

Unlike 2011, today social media is being used to spread such threats and
hate. Top government officials of northern stock who back Jonathan are
being sent very vile text messages.

A governor told Vanguard under anonymity that some of the texts came from
high ranking fulani senators and Members of the House.
Posting Jonathan s flyers or campaigning openly in offices , markets and
restaurants are not encouraged.

Interestingly the fear among pro Buhari folks in the north of southern
stock is, how would the rampaging youths know they voted Buhari.

Some who spoke with pointblanews.com said some of those who lost lives and
property actually voted Buhari.

Top leaders like the Sultan of Sokoto, the Emir of Kano, and the popular
cleric, Sheikh Gumi have not been spared. They weirdly assume Gumi s
critic of Buhari, Emir’s visit to the Villa, and for the Sultan to blame
the north for Boko Haram, were endorsements of Jonathan.

Even though so many believe Buhari is not an ethnic bigot, not disposed to
sharia, and not prone to violence, his body language has not encouraged
the skeptics.

Few moths ago he said, ” in sha Allah, by 2015 something will happen.
They either conduct a free and fair election, or if what happened in 2011
should happen, again in 2015, the dog and the baboon would be soaked in
blood”

Some who spoke with our correspondents say southerners are leaving , while
those who travel led for the holidays are staying back till after
elections.

An igbo trader in Gombe told our correspondent ” is so terrible here, two
days back they nearly killed Gombe state governor, they casted stone on
his convey, he has to take refuge in an emir’s place for 3
hour……reason is that why should he campaign for GEJ. Buhari and his
boys are pushing the southerners for reprisal attack.

“The issue is that the southerners are too patient. Presently, one cannot
display GEJ poster in Kano due to threat. Non-indigene are fleeing due to
threat. Is this democracy. Buhari keep pushing them to do more. The blood
of 1000 NYSC members he initiated their slaughtering in 2011 will surely
speak come 2015.”

Another from Anambra who preferred not to be named sent this message to
our correspondent “Happy New Year in Advance! Based on what you wrote
regards Kano. I am presently in Bauchi, and lots of non indigene are
moving out too its serious oh, alot of Ibo People are even selling their
houses sef most people didn’t even collect the PVC . like where I stay in
Bauchi . . we have 8 flats + our Landlord non of us will be in Bauchi
during the Election . . he has even sold 5 flats of the 8 . . He said he’s
reducing his investments here . . . . . moving them to Anambra… sure .
. . . without my name
sincerely, my cooking gas got finished
yesterday . . . . . . it took me up to 5 hrs of moving round the town to
get it replaced . . . . .. as all the Ibo People selling have left the
town and close their shop . . . . . till after election
its not
funny oh!”

Emmanuel Ogbeche told us “I pity some of those dismissing the madness that
is to come no sane person would be deluded of the present danger. Ezeife’s
interview today speaks volume.

“An Aboki shoe repairer came to repair my kids’ shoes and was playing a
tape. Thankfully my friend that grew and schooled in Sokoto was around and
asked him why he was listening to such message. The Aboki switched it off
and left. My friend told me it was a call to arms against infidels and
support of Muslims in 2015”.

Fred Donedo said “A friend of mine working with the FRCN’s Radio House
has relocated all of her loads away from Abuja.”
