President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed a replacement for Effiong Akwa, who has just been sacked as the interim administrator of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
Emmanuel Audu-Ohwavborua, a director in the Delta State office of the NDDC, has been asked to take over the running of the commission, pending the setting up a new management team and a governing board, according to a letter from the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Umana Umana.
According to the letter, Mr Audu-Ohwavborua is the most senior director in the NDDC.
Emmanuel Audu-Ohwavborua was at various times Director, Project Monitoring & Supervision, Director, Akwa Ibom State Office, Director, Edo State Office, Benin and Director in the Delta State office of the NDDC before the recent appointment.
With over twenty eight years of working experience, Mr Audu-Ohwavborua’s sphare of influence spans over fields of Project Management, Business Development, Production Management and Engineering designs for oil and gas plants (upstream and downstream), Power Systems Designs generally.
Twelve of those years have been in the Senior Management Position, having worked in the United Kingdom as a consulting engineer at Granherne Limited from May – Nov. 1997, steam power stations (boiler and turbines), instrumentation and control units.
He has designed, constructed and supervised electrical overhead lines up to 132KV.
