Suspected Boko Haram members last night attacked Gwoza Prison in Gwoza local government area 135 kilometers away from Maiduguri the Borno state Capital where they freed all inmates present as at time of the attack, Security Sources said.
Pointblanknews.com gathered that a civilian was shot dead by the attackers who hurriedly left the town in the dead of the night.
A security source who preferred anonymity said the attackers drove
into the town at about 10pm “and went straight to the prison located very close to the Emir of Gwoza’s palace”.
“They used explosives to break open the prison and freed all the prisoners after which they burnt down the place completely” the security source said.
Pointblanknews.com also gathered that the suspected militant sect also attacked Fadagwai Village where they shot dead two other persons.
