Former world heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua sustained a leg fracture in a fatal road crash, and the driver involved may face prosecution for reckless driving, a source close to the investigation has revealed.
“The driver is under investigation and may face prosecution for reckless driving,” the source reveals that  “Preliminary evidence suggests there was excessive speed and a lack of proper caution, which contributed to the accident.”
The crash, which occurred earlier this week, reportedly claimed the lives of at least two people, while Joshua was rushed to a medical facility for treatment.
“He suffered a fracture to his leg and is currently receiving specialist medical attention. His condition is stable, but he will require rest and rehabilitation,” the source added.
Authorities are carefully reviewing eyewitness accounts, the condition of the vehicles involved, and compliance with road safety regulations.
“If investigations confirm reckless or dangerous driving, the driver will be charged accordingly,” the source said.
Tributes continue to pour in for those who lost their lives in the crash, as road safety advocates renew calls for stricter traffic law enforcement and measures to prevent similar tragedies.
Joshua’s management team has urged the public and media to respect the boxer’s privacy during his recovery.
“Anthony is focused on healing, and we ask that fans allow him the time and space he needs,” they said.
