Popular Nollywood actress Moyo Lawal has opened up on the emotional and psychological trauma she endured after her leaked intimate video went viral in 2023, revealing that the incident took a serious toll on her mental health.
The actress, via her X handle, said the viral clip shattered her sense of privacy and forced her to withdraw from public life in order to heal.
“The incident took a serious mental toll on me and I had to step away from public life to heal,” Lawal said.
Known for her confidence and fun-loving personality, Lawal explained that the intense public scrutiny and backlash that followed the leak left her heartbroken and emotionally drained.
She also condemned cyberbullying and the non-consensual sharing of private content, warning that such actions can have devastating psychological consequences.
“People forget that celebrities are human too, and the non-consensual sharing of private content can be emotionally devastating,” she added.
Despite the ordeal, the actress said she has emerged stronger and more guarded, focusing on protecting her peace while gradually rebuilding her confidence and career in the entertainment industry.
