The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Presidential Campaign Council has assured loyalists that no committed supporter has been forgotten, saying more appointments will be announced as the 2027 campaign expands its national structure.
The reassurance comes amid concerns over the composition of the campaign council and the omission of some prominent names, including former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Prof. Kingsley Moghalu, who recently rejected his inclusion in Atiku Abubakar’s policy team.
Moghalu said he was neither consulted nor gave his consent to serve on the team, adding that he had stayed away from partisan politics since 2022.
In a statement issued on Saturday in Abuja, the Director of Strategic Communication of the ADC Presidential Campaign Council, Phrank Shaibu, said the recently released list represented only a stage in the organisation of the campaign and was not its final composition.
Shaibu said consultations were ongoing, with additional responsibilities and appointments to be announced as the campaign expands its reach across the country.
He appealed to supporters who may feel disappointed or aggrieved by their exclusion from the first batch to remain patient, assuring them that their years of loyalty and sacrifice would not be overlooked.
“The campaign is still evolving. Consultations are continuing, and further responsibilities will be assigned as the structure expands across the country.
“His Excellency, Atiku Abubakar, remains deeply conscious of the sacrifices made by those who have stood with him over the years. Loyalty is remembered. Sacrifice is respected. Friendship is valued.
“To those who may feel disappointed that their names have not appeared yet, we ask for patience and understanding. No one should believe that years of commitment and sacrifice have been forgotten.
“Our strength has always been our people and the relationships built over many years. We must preserve that bond.”
Shaibu said the campaign would continue to draw from loyal party members, experienced leaders, professionals, young people and other Nigerians willing to contribute meaningfully to its work.
He disclosed that the next phase would include the announcement of zonal and state structures, additional senior appointments, as well as ward and polling-unit organisations across the country.
The campaign spokesman also said the council was strengthening its policy architecture by bringing together Nigerians with relevant competence, experience and global perspectives to address the country’s major challenges.
He listed the areas of focus as the cost of living, food security and agriculture, security, energy and power, jobs and industrialisation, manufacturing and SMEs, education, healthcare, infrastructure, housing, public finance, governance, technology and innovation, social protection, natural resources, the environment and human capital development.
“Nigeria’s challenges are interconnected and cannot be addressed in isolation. The objective is to ensure that every major national problem is matched with a serious, practical and implementable policy response capable of improving the everyday lives of Nigerians.
“This is a people-driven national campaign. It will continue to grow organically, drawing strength from Nigerians who share the desire to build a country where life is more affordable, businesses can thrive, young people can find opportunity and families can once again look to the future with confidence.
“There is room in this journey for every sincere hand willing to serve,” he said.
