Suntai Sacks Cabinet

Taraba State Governor, Mr. Danbaba Suntai this morning sacked the entire State Executive Committee.

He also appointed a new Secretary to the State Government (SSG), and a new Chief of Staff (COS).

Pointblanknews.com had on Tuesday exclusively reported that the governor would sack the entire state exco “any moment.”

Confirming the dissolution, Suntai’s Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Mr. Hassan Mijinyawa, directed the commissioners are to hand over to their permanent secretaries.

The appointments of the SSG and COS, he said, “are with immediate effect.”

Contacted, the immediate past Commissioner for Information and Culture, Mr. Emmanuel Bello, described the dissolution as “welcome.”

He said a new cabinet would help re-shapen the Suntai administration “to continue to transform Taraba State until his tenure lapses in May 2015.”
