President Goodluck Jonathan on Wednesday approved the appointment of Mr Habibu Abdullahi as Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA).
The Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President, Dr Reuben Abati, said in a statement, in Abuja, that Abdullahi replaced Mr Omar Suleiman who had been relieved of his appointment.
The new managing director, who hails from Kano State, was the authority’s Acting Executive Director (Finance & Administration).
He holds a Bachelors Degree in Political Science and Masters Degree in Public Administration.
The President also approved the appointment of three Executive Directors for the organisation.
They are Mr David Omonibeke, Marine & Operations; Mr Mohammmed Saleh, Engineering & Technical Services; and Mr Olumide Oduntan, Finance & Administration.
Similarly, the President approved the appointment of three Executive Directors for the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA).
They are Capt. Ezekiel Agaba, Maritime Safety & Shipping Development; Mr Obi Nwabueze, Maritime Labour & Cabotage Services; and Mr Baba Jauro, Finance & Administration.
The statement said that the appointments took immediate effect. (NAN)
