Former Governor Attahiru Bafarawa of Sokoto state who defected from the
APC to PDP will Wednesday visit the National Chairman of the Peoples
Democratic Party, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu at the PDP Secretariat, Abuja along
with his supporters to discuss ways to move the party forward.
Bafarawa who attended to visitors that include PDP leaders and supporters
in Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara states at his Sokoto residence since his
defection last Saturday said his reasons his to join PDP is to ensure
justice and fairness in nation politics.
He described his defection to PDP as the only solution over injustice
meted on him and his supporters by the leadership of APC after suffering
along with others to bring new All Progressives Congress to the fora.
Bafarawa urged his teeming supporters who followed him to the PDP to
respect those they met in party and work together with them for the
success of the PDP through discipline and unity. He also denied seeking
any political position or favour as reasons of defecting to PDP.
“I am not seeking any political position, it is not what encourage me and
my supporters to decide for our political survival by leaving APC to PDP.
It is true, we are politically orientated, discipline and coherent with
believe of justice and fairness, anything short of it, will no be
accepted. Because temerity is a wisdom to wither storm of grudge against
anybody. I have no grudge or enmity with any particular individual or
group, my political destiny comes from God, only God decide my future and
I trust His judgement for our political destiny and direction” Bafarawa
said.
