JTF Kills Two, Recovers Dangerous Weapons

The Joint Task Force (JTF) in Maiduguri, Borno State have killed two Boko Haram suspects, and  intercepted  arms and ammunitions during a shoot out last night.

The dangerous  weapons were said to have been ferried to  Nigeria by suspected  Boko Haram members.

Addressing reporters at the JTF Headquarters in Maiduguri Spokesman of JTF Lt Col Sagir Musa said  the two suspects were shot dead in a shootout while attempting to resist arrest at Daban Masara, a border community in Borno State.

Musa disclosed that one of the suspect escaped said eight Rocket Launchers and 10 Rocket bombs were carefully concealed in a truck.

According to him,” the driver of the vehicle escaped but the arms and ammunitions were covered with large Palm Leaves and concealed in a blue Toyota hilux truck”.

The spokesman revealed that vehicle was intercepted at about 9pm on Monday night by combine team of “secret security services, the Multi-national Joint Task Force, JTF and other security forces.”

He said the JTF also recovered  10 rocket chargers, two AK 47 Rifles, 13 Magazine with 6 round of 7.62 mm special ammunition.
