President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday relieved the nation’s service chiefs of their appointments.
Curiously, no replacements were announced.
The service chiefs assumed office on January 16, 2014. They include the chief of defence staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Sabundu Badeh; the chief of army staff, Lt-Gen Kenneth Minimah; the chief of air staff, Air Marshal Adesola Nunayon Amosu, and the chief of naval staff, Vice Admiral Jibrin Usman.
There have been concerns concerning the President’s retention and the service chiefs and the National Security Adviser.
Some contend that since their tenure expires next January, and the nation has a huge war with Boko Haram, the best is to replace them and the rest..
Details later. . .
