The menace of flood in some areas of the State took the State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel, to Oron Local Government Area today, for a first-hand view of the state of roads and gully erosion sites in the area wednesday.
Moved by the deplorable conditions he saw, the Governor promptly instructed that work should commence immediately to salvage the unsavoury situation the residents of the area have been facing for the past 30 years.
Youths and women of the area trooped out in their large numbers to witness what they deemed an unprecedented spectacle of a Governor in the rain, attending to the plight of people in Oro Nation.
Speaking to his people in Oron, Governor Udom Emmanuel said “I am that Oro Governor that you were looking for, we are brothers and sisters from one family, I drink from the same river so I feel the plight of the people of Oro Nation.”
