Former Governor of Niger State, Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu has said that the northern part of the country will continue to be poorer and unsecured unless extra ordinary measures are taken to solve poverty problem in the region.
Addressing journalists in Kaduna after the management meeting of Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation, he said: “If anybody is to see the situation we are in within the North, you would know that we are poorer than the other part of the country.”
“Something extra must be done by all of us regardless of party differences because there is no partisanship in terms of development of our community and we must mobilize everybody to make sure that our security is back and the people are secured and that economic development is ensured,” he said.
“ And that the youth are really mobilized for positive activities that is what we would have done so far, and that we would come back to look at some of the instructions we have given for the consolidation and the implementation of the decision we have taken.”
