Kano Is Now Peaceful-Deputy Governor

Kano State Deputy Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje said recent sallah festivities in Kano are clear indication that peace has returned to the state.

He made the observation when he received the emir of Kano at the government House, in the state capital during the traditional Hawan Nassarawa.

Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje said Governor Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso mission was to transform the state population into a productive one and Kano into a mega city.

He said, to achieve the dual missions, Kwankwaso considered providing quality education as paramount and committed huge resources into improvement of Infrastructure in Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Schools to decongest the classes thereby providing conducive atmosphere for learning.

The Deputy Governor added that government has also created various training institutions for youth and women to acquire skills so that they can become productive in the society.

On changing Kano to a mega city, he said the Kwankwaso administration is working towards providing functional infrastructures in order to boost commercial and industrial development of the state.

Dr. Ganduje explained that Government has embarked on expansion and reconstruction of all the major roads of the state as well as construction of flyovers to ease traffic flow.

He said hospitals are also undergoing rehabilitation in order to enhance health delivery to the people.

The deputy Governor said government is working hard to eradicate polio from the state.
Earlier in his speech, the Emir of Kano Alhaji Ado Bayero acknowledged the effort of the government in the areas of Education and Polio Eradication.

He commended the Government for providing functional Street lights which has changed the state.

The Emir then called on Federal Government to Improve Electricity supply and resuscitate industries in the country in order to create job opportunities for the teeming youth.
