The senate committee on Ethics and Privileges is to investigate
allegations level against the Senate President Dr. Bukola Saraki and
Senator Dino Melaye of Kogi West.
The allegations of irregularities of car importation with fake duty level
against Saraki and to also probe Dino Melaye over alleged certificate
scandal.
Senator Ali Ndume, former Senate leader from Borno State where EFCC’s
Ibrahim Magu hails from raise the issue and gave reference that leaders of
the National Assembly previously like the former Speaker from Kano State,
Salisu Buhari, Dimeji Bankole and Aminu Bello Masari, also the case of
former senate president in the person of Adolphus Wabara and Evan Enwerem
were all investigated when issues of similar case were brought up against
them in the floor of the chamber.
The committee has four weeks to submit its reports.
Meanwhile, the Senate also sets up ad-hoc committee to investigate
activities of Executive Secretary of the National Health Insurance Scheme
the NHIS.
