Group Decries Campaign Against Andy Uba

A group, Anambra Integrity Forum (AiF) has
frowned at what it described as a campaign of calumny
against senator representing Anambra South‎, Senator Andy
Uba.The group said it was worried about the
‘heightening media campaign against. Senator Uba by
political jobbers who want to cash in on the upcoming
governorship election in Anambra
State.”In a statement issued
in Awka, capaital of Anambra State, the group said it did
iits investigations and discovered that there is no truth in
the allegations leveled against the
senator.”‎An online
medium Saharareporters has been publishing photocopies of
academic certificates of Senator Andy Uba. We have written
the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and
West Africa Examinations Council (WAEC), and both bodies
have confirmed that the copies of the certificates
posted by Saharareporters are not Andy Uba’s.” said
the group.It continued, “We discovered that the
campaign against Uba is championed by one con artist Victor
Uwajeh, ‎whose stock in trade is forgery, blackmail and
extortion. With the election in Anambra nearing,
Uwajeh is upping his game with the hope that some
governorship candidate opposed to Uba would spot him and pay
him off.”Anambra Integrity Forum commended Uba for
remaining calm in the face of “this distraction”,
saying the senator’s quality representation in the
senate has brought a lot of dividends to the people of the
state.”We commend Andy
Uba for remaining calm. Uwajeh’s plan is to distract.
Rather than join issues, Senator Uba reported the matter to
the police. It is now left for the police to ascertain if
indeed Andy Uba forged his certificates or if Uwajeh forged
the documents being circulated by Saharareporters,” the
group declared.
