FACTS ABOUT DEPUTY SENATE PRESIDENT OVIE OMO-AGEGE

by Our Reporter

OPEN LETTER TO HIS EXCELLENCY PRESIDENT MOHAMMADU BUHARI (GCFR)

The advent of the new leadership in NASS in Nigeria came with its usual underground politicking and intrigues. After which, Ovie Omo-Agege emerged as the preferred candidate of the position of Deputy Senate President which is the highest-ranking public office position in today’s south-south of the ruling APC. This position was viewed by all lovers of democracy as one that is not only politically correct but also perfect following the sterling qualities of the individual that emerged into occupying the position and the complete acceptance by party officials across board and also the ever strategic diaspora coalition that plays enormous roles in the Nigerian Project.

We of Niger delta origin and professionals in various sterling endeavours of life in North America saw the grave yard silence that followed this appointment from only some selected leaders of the South-South region that craves perpetual hold unto power, as a sign of impending attacks (Pull-Him-Down) syndrome always associated with such leaders.

It is therefore not surprising to us, when we noticed the unreasonable and uncouth gathering of hired hurling’s led by one Solomon Adodo, laying spurious allegations and casting needless aspersions on the person of his excellency, DSP Ovie Omo-Agege, with that sole intention of initiating and causing the removal of this astute gentle man and fine politician from the esteemed office of the Deputy senate president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Your Excellency, you would have noticed in existence a dysfunctional party base cutting across Rivers, Delta and Edo state where this Pull-Him-Down syndrome is at play. Its clearly the reason why instead of the ruling APC to galvanize and form a block in the South-South Region and be ready for political horse trading and relevant negotiation as the party and country approach a post Buhari presidency so that they can be taken serious and accorded the respect due them, they are busy scheming to not only remove their own illustrious son from the Exalted office of which none of the fingered actors of this devilish plot are even entitled to occupy.

The records are there to see, Ovie Omo-Agege has brought a clear-cut path of development to Nigeria through the various bills he has initiated and passed in NASS. He has gone further to give the needed push and support to all the various government-initiated programmes since the emergence of this new Government. A self styled team player who various information and news outlet stated, was summoned to the VILLA and asked to bring in a list for the last compiled NDDC board, of which unlike some of the South-South leaders pressing for his ouster, called for a broad representation by informing all these leaders for their nomination which he duly included and the same list was presented to the presidency for processing. As duly admitted by him and checked here in North America, he was cleared of all charges in the said accusative cases being branded around by these wicked and malicious detractors.

Your Excellency, we wish to bring to your knowledge the basis of these sudden attacks on the person of Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, which came from two known fronts/actions as knowledgeable to us here in the diaspora and we wish to indicate them

  1. Ovie Omo-Agege nomination of the MD-Designate in the person of Bernard Okumagba
  2. Ovie-Omo Agege emergence as the APC leader of the South-South in last Caucus meeting in the private office of the National Chairman Adams Oshiomole

These two actions are what rattled these self aggrandising leaders who see these positions as one that are specially designed for them to occupy and no one else. As a result of which the wicked allegations and claims of misconduct were collated and are being brandished around by the self styled Mr. Adodo and his hirlings.

DSP Ovie Omo-Agege has just left the USA-CANADA where he represented Nigeria at the parliament at Ottawa and increased a working relationship with the strong democracies of the WEST. If the spurious allegations are true, why was he not arrested when he was in North America? Or is Mr. Adodo and his paymasters saying the North American security agencies don’t know their jobs anymore?

The desire to control the NDDC by removing anyone that can and will nominate the MD of the Board whenever its reconstituted alongside the insatiable quest of some leaders from the Niger Delta region not willing to subject themselves to anyone as leader of the APC in the region are the 2 flames that are fanning these amber of falsehood with a desperate attempt to remove this astute leader from his position.

Your Excellency, the smear campaign is clearly political with a sole purpose to destabilize a rather stable NASS leadership the executive presently enjoys. Dirt being thrown on DSP Ovie Omo-Agege to discredit him and pave way for someone else with sinister plans from the same leaders of the Niger Delta region towards the presidency and 2023. We in the diaspora might be forced to also dig up their dirt, which are genuine and showcase to all Nigerians to see.

We urge you and all heads of security agencies to ignore these series of mudslinging occasioned with malicious intent to cause harm to Ovie Omo-Agege reputation and position.

We urge the DSS Director General to be fully involved with all valuable time in the ongoing FORENSIC AUDIT in the NDDC where the possibility of major players in the same audit may actually be the same persons of interest that plunged the NDDC in its debts running into Trillions of Naira.

The DSS DG is also urged to initiate modalities in tracing and extraditing some major actors, their wife’s and sons in the last dissolved Interim management committee, we hear have escaped from Nigeria in other to evade arrest, prosecution, retrieval of ALL stolen wealth and Complete Justice.

The DSS DG is urged to look intently at the callous and wanton embezzlement and outright trading of bogus and in most cases over inflated unbudgeted emergency road contracts and water ways clearing contacts carried out by one of the factional Delta state APC leaders who served as an Executive Director in the last sacked IMC and belong to the groups that are peddling these lies about Ovie-Omo Agege. The Army has done a great job by acting on the intel provided for by the US government as in the case regarding Brigadier General Charles Nengite who is accounting for the loot from NDDC, which is a tip off the Iceberg compared to what the DSS would unravel from this factional APC member when deeply probed. The 1 Trillion Naira Scandal within 8 months of an Interim Management Committee #NDDCGate# is more than enough to keep the DG SSS busy and ignore these useless protests targeted at a genuine lover of democracy and advocate of the Buhari Presidency.

The DSS and other security agencies is advised to dwell more on these pressing national issues alongside the pressing security problems plaguing the country and ignore these power hungry, greedy leaders from the APC whose stock in trade is to keep harassing well structured power bases under the Buhari presidency.

Our humble advice to you sir, is to stop these irresponsible power-hungry APC stalwarts in the Niger Delta region from shuffling your power base in the senate through the removal of DSP Ovie Omo-Agege. You would never understand, these actions maybe geared towards a Total leadership change where someone else with factional interests opposite to you and your government within the party would emerge as Leaders of NASS and drag your government back to the 8th Assembly era where infighting and bickering was the order of the day, leaving governance to suffer incredibly.
