Hoodlums yesterday stormed the Omoba Police Station in Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area, Abia State, looted the Police armory and killed a policeman.
The hoodlums were said to have waited at a location on the Omoba -Umuene road from where they stormed the Police station at about 3am.
Police sources told Pointblanknews.comthat the hoodlums who came in over 15 motorcycles, opened fire at the station while policemen on guard duty responded.
However, the hoodlums overpowered the policemen and gained access to the armoury where they carted away arms and ammunition.
Confirming the incident, spokesman of the Abia State Police Command, Geoffrey Ogbonna, a Superintendent of Police, stated that investigation has commenced while no arrest has been made.
