At least sixty-six persons have been killed during an attack in eight villages of Danko/ Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
Spokesperson of the Kebbi State Police Command, DSP Nafiu Abubakar, disclosed this in a statement issued on Saturday.
DSP Abubakar said that there could be more casualties as police officers are still counting the dead bodies as at the moment he issued the press release.
The affected villages, it was gathered, include Koro, kimpi, Gaya, Dimi, Zutu, Rafin Gora and Iguenge villages, all in Danko/ Wasagu Local Government Area of the state
Abubakar assured that the State Police Command has dispatched a detachment of the officers and men of the police force to the area to restore calm.
Two months ago, bandits had killed nine policemen including the DPO of Danko/Wasagu while responding to a distress call.
