Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, is hosting a meeting of the PDP Governors at his country home, Umuobiakwa in Obingwa Local Government Area. .
As at 9pm, Tuesday, only the Governors of Rivers, Oyo, Benue, Enugu states, Nyesom Wike, Seyi Makinde, Samuel Ortom and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, had arrived.
Most of the Governors still being expected are Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum, Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto state; Ahmadu Fintri of Adamawa, Godwin Obaseki of Edo, Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom, Bala Muhammed of Bauchi, Darius Ishaku of Taraba, Duoye Diri of Bayelsa and Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta.
Makinde , Wike , Ortom and Ugwuanyi reportedly met with the Speaker , Chief Chinedum Orji and PDP members of the State House of Assembly as well as the Chairmen of 17 Local Government Areas of the state.
Former PDP national organizing secretary, Col . Austin Akobundu, who hails from Abia State, was also sighted exchanging pleasantries with the Governors.
One of the Ikpeazu’s media aides, Mr.Onyebuchi Ememanka, said the Governors are in Abia for their quarterly meeting and would issue a communiqué at the end of the meeting.
