All Progressive Congress (APC) presidential aspirant and Kano State
Governor, Alhaji Rabiu Musa Kwakwanso yesterday stormed Calabar, the
capital of Cross River State where he held a closed door meeting with the
former governor of the state, Mr Donald Duke.
The meeting which was held at Duke’s Diamond Hill residence lasted more
than hour.
While details of what was discussed remains sketchy, it is however,
thought to be connected with Kwakwanso’s presidential ambition‎.
The Kano State Governor has been on a nation-wide consultation drive to
drum up support for his presidential ambition.
His supporters, adorned in their trade mark Babariga with the red cap were
seen all over Calabar, including Transcorp Hotel along Murtala Mohammed
Highway.
At Transcorp where most of them had gathered, chants of the Kwakwansia
slogan intermittently rent the air.
Duke, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is known to have
close tiers with the APC.
