2015:Kwankwaso Set to Declare for Presidency…Donates N20 Million to Baga and Bama Victims

Ahead of the Presidential race  in 2015 Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of Kano State has said he will soon  declare his intention to contest.

Kwankwanso stated  that while his priority is to secure the lives and property of Kano people as Governor “at the right time I will declare to run for the presidency”

The governor made the revelation today at the government house in Maiduguri during a sympathy visit where he present N20 million cheque to assist victims of the recent Baga and Bama crises.

According to him,” For now we  are now working round the clock to ensure peace and stability in our states  and security in our region.  But I want to assure you that as a team player I will make my intentions known to Nigerians when the time comes.”

“I am not the kind of persons who goes about blowing his trumpet any how.

My brother the Borno state governor has showered so much praises about my humble self to the extent that I wanted to stop him. But probably that is what a true friend and brother should do to a friend  telling the world that this is the quality that makes one thick”.

Kwankwaso revealed that he had never anticipated the level of security Challenges bedeviling  some northern states promising that “as  governors we are set to tackle the challenges head on.”

He said his  government will partner with the  Borno State government  to ensure lasting peace in the region

Borno Governor Kashim Shettima had said this is the first monetary donation the state is getting from any government since the insurgency began in the state.

“Be it Federal, State or International organisation, we have not received a dime  from anywhere, they have all left us to our fate whether we  or swim or sink. But let me assure you, Borno bounce back”

Governor Shettima had earlier eulogize his Kano state counterpart calling him the most senior governor in Nigeria.
