Attorney General and Minister for Justice, Abubakar Malami and the
Director General of the State Security Service, SSS, Lawal Daura are using
President Mohammadu Buhari’s name to intimidate Chief Justice of Nigeria,
Justice Walter Onnoghen and Justices of the Supreme Court to award victory
to embattled Governor of Abia State, Mr. Okezie Ikpeazu, in the case of
submission of false information and fake tax documents before the Supreme
Court, Pointblanknews.com can reveal.
The Supreme Court through Justice Rhodes Vivour had slated ruling on the
false information and fake tax documents onApril 13, 2019.
Desperate to get favourable ruling, the embattled Governor Ikpeazu has
allegedly squandered state resources bribing top Judges through Wole
Olanipekun, a notoriously corrupt lawyer who doubles as a Legal Consultant
to the Abia Governor.
The Abia Governor’s desperation led to the curious enlisting of Justice
Mary Odili, another notoriously corrupt Judge, into the panel to determine
the case against the Governor. Mrs. Odili’s brief is simple: Infiltrate
the Supreme Court Justices determining the case, bribe them using funds
provided by Olanipekun.
Olanipekun is allegedly dangling over N2billion bribe provided by the Abia
Governor before the Supreme Court Justices
Mrs. Odili is notorious for obtaining the infamous perpetual injunction
which placed a blanket immunity against prosecution for her husband, Peter
Odili, a former Governor of Rivers State who allegedly looted funds
belonging to the oil rich state.
Pointblanknews.com gathered that Justice Mary Odili who is renowned for
judicial corruption, had suggested that Ikpeazu and Olanipekun should get
the DG DSS to visit Onnoghen and other Justices of the Supreme court and
try to persuade them of the Presidents interest in the suit.
Justice Odili also suggested that a judgment which has been written by
Olanipekun on her request will be presented to Malami and adopted by the
CJN and other Justices of the Supreme Court sitting over the matter, no
matter how wrong it may be as it becomes law once the apex court makes a
pronouncement.
Daura who has been corruptly working for Ikpeazu to escape justice
co-opted the Attorney General into the deal to drop Buharis name to the
Judges. To further tighten loose ends, Daura, Ikpeazu, Odili, Malami,
Olanipekun, Justice Odili and a serving Senator from Abia State had met
last week in Abuja to review their strategies about the name dropping
game with DG DSS and AGF saddled with the task of convincing Onnoghen
about Buharis interest.
Daura and Malami had undertaken to keep working and pestering the CJN
about Buharis interest which Onnoghen had refused to take. The CJN had
reportedly refused to keep appointment with anybody ahead of the judgment
of the Supreme Court, but Justice Odili advised the governor and
Olanipekun to keep piling pressure on the CJN.
Pointblanknews.com learnt that Ikpeazu is afraid of visiting Onnoghen
after the CJN scolded Olanipekun and warned him never to come to him
because of Nwosu vs Ikpeazus matter. The uncooperative attitude of the
CJN is said to be giving Ikpeazu sleepless nights
Justice Onnoghen and other Justices of the apex court, except Justice
Odili, had refused entreaties by Olanipekun, Daura and Malami to
compromise the Court to deliver Judgment in the governors favour, despite
the irregularities in his tax documents submitted to INEC for the 2015
governorship election in Abia State.
Piqued by the CJNs refusal, Olanipekun had gotten Daura and Malami to
drop Buharis name to the Justices of the Supreme Court to intimidate them
that the President wants judgment in the Abia governorship tussle to be
delivered in favour of Ikpeazu. The import of the deal is to frighten
the Judges with the false claim that the Presidency wants them to deliver
judgment in favour of Ikpeazu and make them accept bribe and pervert
justice, a source told Pointblanknews.com.
Olanipekun , had in the last three weeks , been pestering the CJN to
accept bribe and deliver judgment in the governors favour, but the CJN
has refused to play ball.
On the night of February 21st, the legal consultant who boasts of a N2
billion consultancy fees from the Abia governor is alleged to have met
with some Justices of the Supreme Court at a popular hotel in Abuja where
Justice Mary Odili told him that the Judges she will engage to help
deliver judgment in Ikpeazus favour will collect whooping N500 million
each to overlook the truth and facts of the presentation of false
information on oath in his Form CF001 and other accompanying documents.
Olanipekun who promised to make a N100 million deposit to each Judge was
asked by Justice Odili to hold on to the money as they can only receive
it when they succeed in convincing the CJN and make him approve the deal.
But majority of the Supreme Court Justices are said to have refused to be
swayed by Justice Odilis persuasion and offer of N500 million each to
help deliver judgment in Ikpeazus favour, insisting that the Court ought
to be allowed to deliver justice on the matter.
Pointblanknews.com contacted Attorney General Malami via his cell number.
He did not return calls or responded to text messages to his phone.
Olanipekun also did not respond to text and calls to his phone.
