Despite rumors about his resurrection, Abubakar Audu, has been buried in his hometown, Ogbonicha, in Kogi state.
Audu, who contested the Saturday, November 21, governorship election in the state and led by over 30,000 votes died on Sunday prior to declaration of the election by INEC as inconclusive.
Premium Times reports that at exactly 13.50, Abubakar Audu was buried, adding “Now laid in grave as Imams offer prayers. Sands poured into grave amidst tears and sorrow.”
After the burial, “Suratul Fatiha, the first chapter of the Quoran has been rendered,” and sympathisers dispersed at 14.05.
Earlier in the morning, there had been rumour that Audu was still alive even as prayer warriors were said to have besieged his compound to pray for his resurrection.
