Alleged Fake Presidential Directive: Police Detain Four Journalists

Four journalists with LEADERSHIP Newspapers have reportedly  been detained at the Force Headquarters, Abuja over the publication of an alleged Presidential Directive to deal with Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN leader, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu and members of the opposition party.

The journalists, according to a statement by the Group Managing Director of the Newspaper group, Azubuike Ishiekwene are  Mrs. Chinyere Fred-Adebulugbe (Director, Human Capital);ChuksOhuegbe (Managing Editor); Tony Amokeodo (Group News Editor); and ChibuzorUkaibe (Political Reporter).

They had reported at the Force Headquarters on Monday morning to honour an invitation by the police.

The Director, Human Capital and former LEADERSHIP Sunday Editor, Mrs.Fred-Adegbulugbe, who led the journalists said, “After the journalists finished writing statements, DIG Peter Gana suddenly excused himself on a call from IGP Mohammed Abubakar.

The Newspaper demanded the unconditional and immediate release of our journalists.
