the Bayelsa Government House he resides after he was caught having
meetings with leaders of the All progressive Congress, APC, in the state,
Pointblanknews.com investigation has revealed.
Sources told Pointblanknews.com that on several occasion, Dawaki, would
have nocturnal meetings with the leadership of the APC in his home inside
the Government House.
Unknown to him, State Government officials started suspecting him and
began monitoring his moves. Few weeks to the elections, he was caught and
swiftly evicted from the Government House.
Sources told Pointblanknews.com that the State DSS Director takes
information gleaned from leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and
Governor Seriaki Dickson and pass on same to leaders of the APC in the
state and at the Federal level.
Dawaki, according to informed sources in Bayelsa State has also been using
the Chief Details to Governor Dickson to get classified information.
Sources told Pointblanknews.com that most of the decisions at many of the
PDP’s strategy meetings held with Governor Dickson were leaked to Dawaki
by the Chief Detail.
“He is not alone. He works with the Chief Detail, a DSS official posted to
the Governor. Anytime he needs any information and he can’t get, he goes
to the Chief Detail who gives him whatever information he wants,” a source
told Pointblanknews.com.
Another source told Pointblanknews.com that Dawaki upon resumption in
Bayelsa State on June 18, 2018, he got some funds from the State
Government for housing assistance but never rented an apartment. He rather
remained in the Guest House provided for him inside the Government House.
Pointblanknews.com gathered that the State DSS Director has been staying
at the Government Guest House despite receiving Housing allowance from the
DSS Headquarters.
“He capitalized on our generosity and accommodation to scoop information
from the state and pass on to Timipre Sylva and his people,” a source who
does not want to be named told Pointblanknews.com.
The source continued “We already have serious election crisis on our
hands, and I am sure part of it is because of the activities of Dawaki.”
Soon after he was evicted, Dawaki was said to have rushed to Abuja to
press and lobby to be transferred from Bayelsa State. Dawaki who is an
inlaw to Abba Kyari, the Chief of Staff to President Mohammadu Buhari.
Dawaki, according to a source is also a close ally to Bashir Abubakar, the
recently sacked Chief Security Officer to President Buhari.
He is said to be eyeing a transfer to either Lagos or Akwa Ibom States and
have been using his contacts in the Presidency to pressure the Director
General of the Department of State Security, DSS, to get a transfer.
Pointblanknews.com gathered that few days to the General elections, the
DSS State Director received three “Ghana Must Go” bags loaded with cash
few days before the elections. Pointblanknews.com could not independently
verify this claim and what the cash was meant for.
Besides running into trouble waters with the Bayelsa State Government,
Dawaki is not in a good working relationship with Assistant Directors and
other junior level officers of the DSS in the State.
Sources told Pointblanknews.com that he does not carry his subordinates
along and often takes decisions without consulting other senior officials
of the DSS in the state.
Pointblanknews.com tried to reach the State DSS Director for his comments
but his telephone line was not connecting.
