Some suspected Boko Haram members yesterday night shot dead 25 persons in different locations within Ganye Local Government Area of Adamawa State, Police Authority said.
Spokesman of the Police in Adamawa state , Mohammed Ibrahim confirmed the incident during a telephone interview with pointblanknews.com ” Some unknown gunmen attacked and killed a total of 25 persons in different locations within Ganye town last night. We lost a police officer and prison security officer, a former Commissioner in the state while 22 others killed were innocent civilians.” Ibrahim said.
” The gunmen had attacked a Divisional Police Headquarters in Ganye, the Prison, Area Court, Banks, the local government secretariat and some residential buildings where they carried out their attacks” Ibrahim said.
The spokesman added that ” the Police and other security agencies have beefed up security in the area. As we speak, normal business activities has returned to the local government council”
