Chief Security Officer to a former Head of State, Gen. Sani Abacha, Major Hamza Al-Mustapha has called on the Federal and Kaduna State governments to reverse direct order on promoters of controversial Kaduna Declaration by some groups of Northern youths.
He said the northern youth groups even though were wrong with the declaration, should be pardoned because they were only responding to earlier threat issued the country by those agitating for sovereign state of Biafra quickly added that, time has come to bury the hatched and move on as a people.
This was coming even as a leader of Movement for the Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), Chief Ralph Uwazuruike hinted that, Nnamdi Kanu was hijacked by politicians as a director of radio Biafra which he personally founded in London in 2999.
The duo and other leaders from southern and northern parts of the country had stormed Kaduna on Monday to see how they could put all hands on deck to address the threats from MASSOB and Northern youths over what they termed unwarranted development which would not the country any good.
Al-Mustapha and MASSOB leader, Chief Ralph Nwazurike, among others were in Kaduna to broker peace with youth from both the southern and northern parts of the country over ‘Kaduna Declaration’ that over time generated serious controversy.
According to him, the development in Nigeria that is causing tension is not surprising, because same is expected to be sponsored by countries that envy Nigeria due to its wealth.
He explained that in achieving their aims, they could even go as far as sponsoring stooges to leadership positions in the country, or backing rebels to stop countries with huge potentials from reaching their peak.
Al-Mustapha while cautioning the youth from the North, from making statements that would further cause tension in the country, said that they may have resulted to that out of frustration as a result of comments coming from the IPOB leader, Nazi Nbamdi Kanu, “those from the Arewa Coalition which were declared wanted should be granted pardon in the spirit of love and peace”.
He praised Uwazuruike who was present at the meeting, for making the right decision of backing the existence of one indivisible Nigeria.
On his part Uwazuruike said, “Crisis in Nigeria being manipulated and caused by politicians. We must not allow that, the country must continue to exist as one nation but act to address issues of marginalisation.
Uwazuruike explained that when he started MASSOB in 1999, it was purely meant to be a peaceful platform through which issued of perceived marginalisation of the Igbo’s in Nigeria can be brought to the fore and tackled saying, even though it was right for any part of the country to seek self determination, it was wrong to pursue same through violent means
“I handed over Radio Biafra which I created to Nnamdi KANU in London and was hoping it would serve the purpose for which it was created, but was disappointed that politicians hijacked him and it became something else,” he said
Speaking further, the MASSOB leader assured the Hausa in all the eastern part of the country of their safety, while thanking Al-Mustapha for assuring same for the Igbo in the North.
