Echoes From Today’s PDP Governors Forum

by Our Reporter

“As I’m standing here as Governor of Plateau state, I’m yet to get my PVC and INEC says it is ready. I hope the plateau people will not be disenfranchise in the forthcoming election.”  – Gov Jang

“People say we should talk about issues forgetting aspirants personalities are also  issues. In developed countries, where we borrowed the democracy kind of government, people’s personal sexual life are even issues of public debate during campaigns. So why shouldn’t we also focus on their personalities?” – Gov Mimiko

“Today, the Nigerian Journalist is biased. They have taken a stand rather than report news objectively for people to make informed choices. Most of our brothers in the press are politicians. They have interest and they jealously try to protect those interest at the expense of the public.
APC says they will provide one meal per day for Nigerians if elected but they can’t do that in Lagos when their Internal Generated Revenue runs into billions.
When Obasanjo became President at sixty-two years, we called him, Baba. As a Presidential candidate at seventy-three years, hence we call Buhari, ‘Pa’.
My mother who is seventy-four years, takes her time to get out of bed. The people who made the rules that retirement age of civil servants should be sixty years are not daft. Buhari is too old to be Nigeria’s president. If they (APC) had picked Kwankwaso, “ehen”! Kwankwaso is a brother whose body is full of life, then we are sure of a healthy President. “- Gov Fayose

“APC has no single plan for Nigeria other than to remove PDP from power. And then, what next? They take photos and post on the internet that Buhari is “winning” in the North/South deceiving you. They are insulting your intelligence. Take a look at PDP team here and tell me if we are not intellectuals. Can you say so of APC’s team? Look at Ameachi, look at Buhari? (*Shakes head*) – Gov Sule Lamido”

“I woke up this morning to a FALSE story propagated by a South Governor that PDP Governors are in Lagos to defect to APC. Pure lies! I’m a member of the G7 governors who believed that we needed to correct some anomalies then, which we sorted out. If I didn’t defect then, why should I now? Defecting through the back door? Not possible.
When Buhari was in power, as a young man, his second in command was in charge. We saw it happen when he was in PTF. What will happen when he becomes president at seventy-three years?
I have on good authority how the preferred candidate of the APC was short changed for Gen. Buhari to emerged as APC presidential. The whole drama happened on the day of the primaries as bullion vans with cash (money) drove into the venue to distribute money to delegates to distort a fair process to short-changed the preferred candidate because General Buhari had an agreement with Senator Ahmed Tinubu to only run for one term. If Buhari goes for one term meaning the North will again lose her eight years of becoming President”. – Gov Aliyu

“PDP Governors Forum are not in Lagos to form a “new political party” as alleged by some people but to support President Jonathan’s transformation agenda and tell Nigerians to vote wisely. Vote to ensure our national dream is not aborted.
PDP Governors Forum has resolved and it is saying election should not be postponed again. We want it to hold on March 28. We are not afraid of election. Even if it holds now, we will defeat the opposition.
On June 2014, Lia Muhammad criticize the war against Boko haram as unconstitutional. On Liberty radio station, Buhari did same. The APC has supported Boko haram in every capacity hence Boko haram keeps nominating them as Mediators and spokesperson to represent them in any dialogue. “- Gov. Akpabio
