The Son of the Governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Sule Lamido was this morning arrested by agents of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC for attempting toy launder hard currencies in Dollars, Pound Sterlings and Euros, out of Nigeria through the Aminu Kano International Airport, MAKIA, Kano.
Top sources at the EFCC who confirmed the arrest to pointblanknews.com said investigations are currently being carried out to determine how much the cash found were worth. The young Lamido whose name has not been fully released is said to be heading to Cairo, Egypt.
Governor Lamido has been speculated as the preferred candidate by top Politicians from the Northern extraction to take over from President Goodluck Jonathan who some argue should not contest the 2015 Presidential election.
