Contrary to media reports, lies told to President Mohammadu Buhari, by the Cabal led by late Abba Kyari, Mamman Daura, Babagana Kingibe and Lawan Daura, led to the cancelation of the planned purchase of $2.5billion worth of weapons for the Military by the office of the National Security Adviser, NSA, Babagana Monguno, sources in the United Arab Emirates told Pointblanknews.com.
Nigeria had entered into an agreement with International Golden Group (IGG), an Abu-Dhabi based Arms supplier company owned by the UAE Royal family to supply Nigeria with military weapons to tackle insurgencies.
The MOU, according to sources was a fallout of Buhari’s meeting with the Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum where the UAE King had promised to help Nigeria with the supply of Arms and Ammunition.
Sources told Pointblanknews.com that Buhari had immediately directed NSA Monguno to liaise with an aide of the UAE King and work out the modalities for the weapons procurement.
Pointblanknews.com gathered that while the deal was on, Late Kyari, Mamman Daura, Lawan Daura and Babagana Kingibe went to Buhari and lied to him that IGG Group is a private company.
Sources said Buhari yielded to the pressures from the Cabal who have often times undermined the NSA and had the deal canceled.
But checks conducted by Pointblanknews.com revealed that IGG Group which was recommended by King Maktoum, is a company wholly owned by the family the UAE King.
According to sources, the cabal never wanted a Government-to-Government deal as recommended by NSA Monguno. Rather, the Cabal wanted any Arms deal to be done through private contractors.
“The Company is owned by the King and his Family. They had a relationship with Buhari and promised to give Nigeria weapons eight times the amount they would get anywhere in the world but Kyari, Mamman Daura, Kingibe and Lawan Daura frustrated the deal,” a source in the know told Pointblanknews.com.
According to the source, “they lied to Buhari like they have always done and told him IGG Group is a private company. They never wanted a Government-to-Government deal.”
“It is the height of mischief to say that Monguno brought a Private Company,” a source said.
Sources told Pointblanknews.com that the cabal have been working with Hima Aboubakar a Nigerien weapons contractor who have now been indicted in Niger and recently declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
Pointblanknews.com learned that Aboubakar who had dealings with former NSA Sambo Dasuki was introduced to Kyari.
While Kyari undermined the office of the NSA under Monguno, he went to bed with Aboubakar, doing deals with the discredited Nigerien.
Investigations conducted by Pointbalnknews.com revealed that during his time with Kyari and the Cabal, Aboubakar and his company Societe d’Equipments Internationaux (SEI) inflated the prices of two Military Helicopters from $5million to $25million.
Documents seen by Pointblanknews.com show SEI signed off on the purchase of six Mi-24 and Mi-35 helicopters for $25 million each, which was said to be far above their normal value of $5 million each.
Pointblanknews.com was informed that the excess from the purchase was shared by the Cabal.
However, sources told Pointblanknews.com that in the several attempts to ridicule the NSA following issues he raised about lack of weapons for the military, ex service chiefs led by former Chief of Army Staff, Yusuf Buratai and some members of the Buhari cabal, have teamed up to fight back.
According to sources, “they are waging an orchestrated media war against Monguno, lying and accusing him of something he never did. They are all afraid because they all know what they have done in the name of Buhari. They all know how they have manipulated the President and done a lot of shady deals. They are afraid they are about to be exposed and that is why you see all the lies they tell a section of the media.
