INEC declares APC’s Ododo as winner of Kogi guber poll

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has declared the governorship standard bearer of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Mr Usman Ododo as winner of the Kogi governorship election.

He scored 446,237 to push to the second place, the candidate of the Social Democratic Party [SDP] Mr Murtala Ajaka.

The State Chief Returning officer, Professor Johnson Oramah, also announced that the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Dino Melaye scored 46, 362 votes.

That figure places him in a distant third position.

The outgoing governor of the state, Yahaya Bello, has sent his appreciation to all stakeholders whom he said supported him on his governorship voyage.

He said he would soon return home gallantly and triumphantly.

Bello said he had come; he had seen and he had served.
