The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) moments ago declared All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) governorship candidate, Chief Willie Obiano, governor-elect of Anambra State.
At the end of supplementary elections, the commission announced that Obiano polled 180,178 votes to defeat his closest rival, Peoples Democratic Party’s Comrade Tony Nwoye.
The Returning Officer, Prof. James Eboke said Obiano satisfied the provisions of the electoral act by polling 25 percent in 19 out of the 21 local government areas.
Obiano also polled 25 percent in the supplementary election in Idemili council, considered stronghold of All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Senator Chris Ngige.
