Jonathan’s Confidant, Oronto Douglas Dies

Special Adviser to the President on Strategy, Research and Documentation,
Mr. Oronto Douglas, has died of Cancer.

A top confidant of President Goodluck Jonathan, Douglas died early this
morning at the State House Clinic, Asokoro, Abuja.

Douglas has for a few years been battling to survive what a source said
was “stomach cancer.”

Until his appointment into the President Jonathan’s administration,
Douglas was a lawyer who represented the Niger Delta oil Communities. He
is internationally known as an environmental activist.

Born in 1966, Douglas is survived by a wife and Children.
