The Joint Task Force operating in Borno State have shot dead at least 32 suspected Boko Haram terrorist in two separate attacks on security formations in Bama and Abadam local government areas of Borno State Official said.
The JTF also lost Two soldiers and a Policeman while two other soldiers sustained injury during the attack spokesman of the JTF Lieutenant Colonel Sagir Musa said in an e-mail statement today.
“Troops have successfully repelled Boko Haram terrorists attack on Mobile Police Base and Bama town.
“Terrorists using sophisticated weapons and Improvised Explosive Devices launched attacks at about 6:45am on 4th August, 2013′.
“The encounter led to the death of one policeman and 17 Boko Haram Terrorists; two soldiers were also wounded’, he said.
Musa also said two soldiers were killed when Boko Haram staged another attack on the operatives of the Multi-National Joint Task Force (MNJTF).
The soldiers were able to gun down 15 Boko Haram terrorists ” The attack took place ‘about 10am on 4th August, 2013 when some Boko Haram Terrorists armed with sophisticated weapons attacked MNJTF location at Malum Fatori. The attack led to the death of 2 soldiers and 15 Boko Haram terrorists.
Items recovered during the attack in Bama attack include ” 4 Toyota Hilux Vehicles, 10 AK 47 riffles, 2 G3 rifle 10 40 mm bombs, 3 RPG tubes , 85 rounds of 7.62 MM ammunition, 9 rounds of 7.62 Special ammunition, 1X IED amongst others”
The spokesman said that normal activities have since resumed in the area and called on resident to give ” timely information to be able to destroy terrorism in out area of responsibility”
