Kano state government has imposed dusk to dawn curfew across the 44 local governments area of the state after the declaration of Abba Kabir Yusuf of the New Nigerian People’s Party NNPP governor-elect.
The state Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Muhammad Garba who made the announcement early hours of Monday revealed that the decision became imperative to prevent hoodlums from disrupting peace as the atmosphere is already tense.
Garba advised people of the state to remain indoors while security agents will not hesitate to arrest anyone nor spare any group of people that are hell bent on causing chaos.
Earlier, the former governor of Kano state Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso has called for fairness in the elections disclosing that he would not be happy with any form of chaos following an announcement of results in the state.
The former governor, much earlier express worry as he revealed a move by disgruntled elements to declare the election inconclusive.
