In what appears to be a last minute desperate moves, embattled Governor Abdullahi Ganduje has approved the immediate release of Two Hundred and Twenty Three Million, Five Hundred Thousand, (N223,500,000.00) to the 12 Local Governments out of 44 Local Governments in Kano State.
In a letter obtained by Pointblanknews.com dated March 12, 2009 and signed by Ibrahim Kabara, Director Local Government Inspection and Abba Ladan Kailani, Permanent Secretary, the cash was credited to 12 Local Governments in the state.
Sources told point blank news.com that while the cash disbursements is going to be in batches to other Local Governments in the state, it is specifically meant to bribe voters at N10k each during the rerun in 30 Local Governments in March 23.
Governor Ganduje notoriety for receiving bribe is giving him hard time getting a smooth re election.
He has vowed to defeat, Abba Kabir, the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP who was leading in the polls before the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, declared the polls inconclusive.
