The Peoples’ Democratic Party’s Presidential Campaign spokesman, Femi Fani-Kayode has threatened to slam a N5 Billion libel suit on the spokesman for the All Progressive Congress, Lai Mohammed over some defamatory remarks.
Mohammed had alleged in a story published in the Nation Newspapers, and few others on March 3, 2015, that Fani- Kayode has mental illness, and that he abuses drugs.
He had said ” …We are seriously concerned that Mr Fani-Kayode may have unhinged , perhaps as a result of a relapse into an unhealthy lifestyle of substance abuse.
A letter to Mohammed by his attorneys, Ahmed Raji and Co, dated March 3, 2015, said ” we demand that you withdraw the said statement and render an apology to our client within seven (7) days of receipt of this letter” You are also to enter into negotiation for damages as we have firm instructions to claim N5 Billion damages against you”
