Fresh crisis is brewing in the troubled Peoples Democratic Party as some national officers of the party have called on the National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh, the Acting Chairman, Board of Trustees, Haliru Mohammed and others to step down with immediate effect.
They made the call in a statement issued in Abuja on Monday.
The officers hinged their argument on the corruption charges against the two men by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission.
While Mohammed has been released on bail, Metuh is currently being remanded at Kuje Prisons on court orders.
The statement requesting the officers to step down was signed by the Deputy National Youth Leader, Dennis Alonge-Niyi; Deputy National Legal Adviser, Bashir Maidugu; Deputy National Organsising Secretary, Okey Nnaedozie; and Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Abdullahi Jalo.
