A 24 hours curfew has been slammed on the troubled city of Damaturu, northeast Nigeria, as soldiers commence house to house search for Boko Haram members, the police and residents have said.
Yobe state police commissioner, Patrick Egbuniwe, said the exercise was being carried out by the combined forces of the police and the JTF as a deliberate strategy to holeup the “Boko Haram terrorists”‘.
‘The general cordoning of the metropolis to both motorists and pedestrians was a deliberate security tactics of the police and JTF to hole up suspected terrorists that used the four entry points into Damaturu to launch attacks and killings this weekends’, said CP Egbuniwe.
