N20 Billion Naira Election Largesse Tears Jonathan’s Kinsmen Apart

by Our Reporter

The sum of N20 Billion allegedly released by President Goodluck Jonathan to his kinsmen for his 2015 re election bid has resulted in a legal battle between Comrade Wisdom Oniekpar Ikuli, the National Director of Mobilization, Ijaw Youth Council, IYC and Barrister Azibaola Robert, the Managing Director of Kakaatar Engineering.

Comrade Ikuli, has sued Barr. Robert the founder of the Good House, initiator of the #TheGoodluckThumb (a pro-Jonathan campaign group) to the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja over breach of contract, claiming a whooping N155 Million.

In the case with Suit No: CY/1711/15 dated 28th April, 2015, the Plaintiff’s claims are as follows;

1. A Declaration of the Court that there exist a valid contract of service between the Plaintiff and the Defendant

2. A Declaration of the Court that the Plaintiff has satisfactorily executed his part of the contract between him and the Defendant

3. A Declaration of the Court that the Plaintiff is entitled to payment from the Defendant for services rendered.

4. An Order of the Honourable Court directing the Defendant to pay to the Plaintiff the sum of #155,000,000 being the agreed consideration sum owed the Plaintiff by the Defendant for services rendered.

6. And such further reliefs the Honourable Court may deem fit to award to the Plaintiff in the circumstances of this case.

Attached is copy of the affidavit deposed to the above which clearly states the facts of the matter.

It was further revealed that before the engagement of Comrade Wisdom ONiekpar Ikuli by Barr. Azibaola Robert that, Comrade Ikuli was deeply involved in the reelection campaign of Mr President through a group he personally founded and funded (the Ijaw Youth Council For Goodluck 2015). And that it was based on the enormous successes of the Ijaw Youth Council
For Goodluck 2015 Project that Barr. Azibaola Robert decided to engage the services of Comrade Ikuli to help in running the #TheGoodluckThumb that has existed for over one year without any significant result before the engagement of Comrade Ikuli who within few weeks was able to make the group a nationally recognised and acclaimed one.

Findings show that Barr. Azibaola Robert who is one of the closest ally and a member of Mr President’s kitchen cabinet collected over #20,000,000,000 Billion in respect of the campaign but only used the Plaintiff and other groups as stooges without releasing what was due to them. And this is one of the major reasons behind the failure of Mr President in the just concluded Presidential Election as most of his trusted friends and allies betrayed him by refusing to release monies that
were entrusted to them.

The same thing happened in 2011 and after the victory of Mr President, the over 3000 Pro-Jonathan were abandoned only to be called upon again in 2015.

Findings also show that the same Barr. Azibaola Robert has collected so many contracts that he has either abandoned or done only 35% of the projects. Some of such projects include:

1. Bayelsa State Cargo Airport (Sandfilling) 4 Million Cubic of Sand at N10Billion

2. Maitama Extension (Infrastructure) N150Billion

3. Supply of Engineering Materials at N67Billion

4. Waterfront Shore Protection at Otuoke and Ayakoromo at the total cost of #5Billion

5. Reclamation Project at Akipilai Community at the cost of N5Billion

6. Internal Road Networks at Otuoke at the cost of N4Billion

7. Construction of 2000 Rooms Hostel at Federal University, Otuoke at the cost of N4Billion

8. Construction of the Opume/Okoroba 9.5 Km Road at the cost of N10Billion

Among other juicy contracts that were awarded to Barr. Azibaola Robert through his company mangrovetech Engineering Limited that was later changed to Kakaatar Engineering due to his bad record of abandoning projects.

The said matter in the FCT High Court is scheduled for Thursday 28th May, 2015.

The pressure groups that Comrade Wisdom Ikuli engaged have been putting pressures on him to settle them, the embattled Comrade decided to take his case to the High Court after several of his calls and meetings with Barr. Azibaola were turned down.
