Boro-Town Training Complex to stay away from Kaiama Town in
Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government, Bayelsa State. The Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme and Special Adviser
to the President on Niger Delta, Prof. Charles Quaker Dokubo, had set up a
special committee to investigate the looting of the N60billion Boro-Town
Training Complex that was recently looted for nearly five days by
hoodlums.
The Committee is supposed to arrive Kaiama March 4, 2019 to begin a
fact finding mission.
Kaiama Leaders said they cannot guarantee the safety of anyone involve in
what they termed “a fraudulent committee” set up by Prof. Dokubo.
In a statement signed by Chief Roland Diepreye Oweifa for Kaiama leaders
and made available to Pointblanknews.com which broke the story of the
N13billion contract scam in Boro-Town Training Complex, noted that the
looting that took place at the center was orchestrated by Dokubo to cover
up the stealing he supervised.
The statement reads:
“Our attention has been drawn to the fraudulent committee set-up by the
Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme and Special Adviser to
the President on Niger Delta, Professor Charles Quaker Dokubo to
investigate the looting of our N60 billion Boro-Town Training Facility in
Kaiama. The looting of the multi-billion-naira facility took place from
Monday February 11, 2019 to Friday February 15, 2019 with no help from any
security personnel to stop the looting of government properties.
“We the great people of Kaiama town in Kolokuma/OpokumaLocal Government
Area in Bayelsa state hereby state that no such fraudulent committee is
welcome or will be allowed access to our communities.
“We call on every able men and women in our communities to rise and remain
vigilant as the safety and security of members of such a fraudulent
committee cannot be guaranteed within our communities. We are all aware
that Prof. Dokubo orchestrated the looting of the multi-billion-naira
training facility to cover-up his N13 billion worth of non-existent
supplies contracts he awarded and paid to his cronies.
“We call on President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR to direct the Inspector
General of Police, EFCC, DSS, ICPC, and other federal investigating
agencies to urgently investigate this out-right public funds stealing and
fraud. Prof. Dokubo should not be allowed to remain in office to
investigate this brazen theft which he orchestrated and blame it on our
communities.
“It has been brought to our notice by various news outlets that Mr.
Gbaboyor, Head of the Training Center reported the looting to the Police
in Bayelsa state February 14, 2019, three days after the looting of the
N60 Billion Vocational Training in what appears to be a well-choreographed
move. It states that after the Head of the Boro-Town Vocational Training
Center Mr. Gbaboyor reported the Matter to the Police in Bayelsa state,
Prof. Dokubo became very angry at Mr. Gbaboyor for reporting the matter to
the Police without them discussing their proposed public statements.
“Prof. Dokubo then instructed Mr. Gbaboyor to immediately withdraw his
statement and the Police report that had already being filed with the
Police in “Bayelsa state. On February 15, 2019 Gbaboyor wrote to the
Police in Bayelsa state to withdraw his statement and the report that he
had already filed with the Police.
“This begs the question, how can Prof. Dokubo write to withdraw their
statement from the Police whose primary duty is to maintain law and order
and investigate crimes, and then turn-around to set-up a committee of his
fraudulent cronies with no investigative powers to investigate the events
that the Police should be investigating.
“Finally, we once again call on President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR to deploy
the powers of the State and investigate this out-right public funds
stealing and fraud because Prof. Dokubo should not be allowed to remain in
office to investigate this brazen theft which he orchestrated and blame it
on our communities.
Signed:
Chief Roland Diepreye Oweifa.
