This is just as as the new administration has commencement payment of promotion arrears totalling N5.522bn for civil servants in the state with effect from August, 2023.
A statement signed by Felix Ofou, Executive Assistant, New Media to the Delta State Governor on Tuesday revealed that the Oborevwori-led administration has also approved payment of the sum of N40bn pension for pensioners at the Local Government level.
Additionally, a total of 50, 167 public servants including those in the 10 tertiary institutions in the state will earn the sum of N10, 000 each for a period of three months.
To lessen the pain of commutting to and from work, civil servants on Grade Levels1-14 are expected to turn up in their various offices three times a week while those on Grade Levels 15 and above will avail their services in a way deemed convenient by their respective Ministries, Departments and Agencies.
A committee headed by the Secretary to the State Government, Kingsley Emu with membership drawn from different fields has been constituted by the Delta State Government to among others, “Identify the poor and vulnerable households across Delta, identify widows from the state’s robust widow database, People Living with Disability (PWDs), the aged; engage the Keke Assembly plant in Asaba to finalize the production of tricycle that is fuel and CNG compatible as well as provide electric vehicles for mass transit.”
