The group of seven rebel Governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and members of the so called new PDP have joined the All progressives Congress (APC).
The Governors are Babangida Aliyu (Niger); Aliyu Wamakko (Sokoto); Rabiu Kwankwaso (Kano); Muritala Nyako (Adamawa); Abdulfatah Ahmed (Kwara) and Sule Lamido (Jigawa) and Rotimi Amaechi (Rivers State).
The governors met at the Kano State lodge in Abuja where they decided to dump the PDP for the APC. Five of the seven Governors attended the meeting.
Mallam Baba Dantiye, spokesperson to Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso confirmed to Pointblanknews.com that the G7 Governors and members of the New PDP have fused with the APC. A member of the G7 Governors who does not want to be named also confirmed the decision to Pointblanknews.com.
Of the seven governors in the new PDP, six were to be summoned by the PDP disciplinary committee headed by Second Republic Minister for Transport, Alhaji Umaru Dikko. The committee planned to expel the dissident Governors.
