The PDP has named Sen. Walid Jibril as its substantive chairman of the Board of Trustees.
A former Minister of Transportation, Chief Ojo Maduekwe was appointed secretary.
The decision was reached this afternoon at a meeting in abuja.
Walid was the party’s acting national secretary before his appointment today.
The BoT had been at daggers drawn with embattled chairman, Ali Midi-Sheriff, over his plot to remain in office beyond the convention.
Maduekwe told pointblanknews.com recently that he and his colleagues would never support Modu-Sheriff.
The chairman had made subterranean efforts to stifle the BoT when he made a proposal for the amendment of the party’s constitution.
The move was to ensure the Board does not meet without informing the chairman and disclosing it’s agenda.
Two days ago Jerry Gana led a group of the party’s bigwigs to call on the chairman to exit this month.
