Why We Want Kuku Fired

by Our Reporter

Six former militants have joined forces with those calling for the sack of the head, Presidential Amnesty Programme, Hon. Kingsley Kuku, saying the programme was doomed under his leadership.

In a statement “Time to speak against Kinglsey Kuku’s Fraud,” the ex-militants said they were tired of the lies sold to the world by the amnesty office. They urged President Goodluck Jonathan to immediately fire Kuku in order to save the programme.

Kuku, the ex-militants claimed, “was deeply involved in what inspired us to take up arms against the Nigerian state,” but lamented that he has used the amnesty office to create more problems for youths of the Niger Delta.

“If he is not involved in political grandstanding, he is involved in shadow boxing and odious recrimination with those, he is assigned to manage. Our take as ex-agitators is that, though this man, while fluent in grammatic expression, obviously lacks the carriage, capacity and the moral compass to effectively steer the ship of this very sensitive programme to a safe shore,” they submitted.

“It is  common knowledge that he has appropriated the amnesty programme to himself, members of his immediate family and cronies. All in a desperate bid to promote his ordure political ambition,” the ex-militants complained.

In the statement signed by “Generals”
Ebikeniye Ekyri,  Victor Emmuel, Salvation aka Krugbisa, the ex-militant leaders accused Kuku of using one  Chief Bibopere Ajube (a.k.a General Shoot-at-Sight) as a leg man to forment trouble.

Also signed by Generals Pogo, Otonye Suwoepre, and Last Don, the former militant leaders in the statement alleged that Kuku had converted the amnesty programme into a cash cow, and was crushing anybody who dared questioned his style.

“Little was known of this Shoot-at-Sight when the struggle was at its peak but today, they are one’s smiling to the bank. Little wonder, they are now readily available tools to be used as cannon folder,” the six “Generals” submitted.

On what they alleged was the “vindictive and dictatorial tendencies of Kuku.” The ex-militants claimed;  “Whenever you have issues with him on the way he runs the amnesty office, he does all within his powers to silence you. Kingsley Kuku detests any form of opposition, whether constructive or not. He likes hearing himself alone.

“The sham contracts, purported overseas training; local engagements including phony job placements both home and abroad are all designed to hoodwink the gullible public and the presidency. If we are pushed any further, we will have no choice than to open more can of worms,” they added.
