Apparently to register their grievances on the removal of fuel subsidy by the federal government to the members of the National Assembly (NASS) protesters on Wednesday morning broke down the barricade at the outer entrance to NASS complex.
This is even as the nationwide protests called by organised labour kicked off across the country on Wednesday with the President of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Comrade (Barrister) Joe Ajaero leading other trade unions to protest in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
Immediate past President of NLC, Comrade Ayuba Wabba who was among those who addressed protesters in Abuja berated successive governments for the failure to fix Nigeria’s oil refineries.
Pointblanknews.com reports that protesters break down the first gate of the National Assembly and made their way into the premises.
They are currently inside the NASS premises as at the time of filing this report.
