A US legal website, PlainSite.org, has again dragged the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to the court of public opinion, asking him to explain how he could finance the purchase of $4.5m estate in Brooklyn, USA.
The site insisted as a governor, Tinubu could only afford such an estate if he saved up his salaries for 161 years, hence the need for clarifications.
In a tweet on its handle yesterday, PlainSite.org sought to know where Asiwaju Bola Tinubu lived while he was in the United States as there were discrepancies in his transactions while he was working with Compass Investments Company Ltd.
“Where did the funds come from to finance your family’s purchases of Brooklyn real estate worth approximately $4.5 million USD?
“According to our calculations it would take you approximately 161 years to afford that amount on a Nigerian Governor’s salary of approximately ₦11.5 million (about $27,800 USD). Any clarification would be appreciated.
“Another question: did you actually live in Chicago or did you live in Washington, D.C. or did you live in Maryland when you were in the United States? Because while you were making bank deposits for Compass Investments Company Ltd. in Chicago…it was located in D.C.
“Specifically, it was located at a house owned at one point by your company, Compass Investments, via a man named Samuel I. Ibidapo.
“Who is Ibidapo?
“Why did the USDOJ allow you to continue running Compass for 10 years after the IRS connected it to heroin?
“Thanks for your time. ” The tweets concluded.
